Helsey House Cottages are found within the grounds of Helsey House. The hamlet of Helsey near Hogsthorpe is on the North East Lincolnshire coast. We are 5 minutes from Chapel St Leonards and 15 minutes from Alford. The cottages are converted from existing cattle stalls belonging to the dairy farm. They are furnished to the highest standard but have kept many original features and the character of the buildings. Parking close to the cottages is available.
We especially welcome families with special needs such as autism, challenging behaviour, learning difficulties, downs syndrome and other disabilities. Wheelchair users or those with other mobility issues are very welcome. We hold a Level 1 Certificate under the National Accessible Scheme for The Dairy. Carers can be arranged if you require help during your holiday.
Various aids and equipment are available for guests to help make their stay more comfortable. These include manual wheelchair, shower wheelchair, toilet seat raiser, bed raisers and cot sides. Please specify your requirements when booking.
The south facing courtyard garden is private and has barbeques and seating for our guests.
The Cow Shed Cottage has a south facing living area which overlooks the courtyard garden and the rear paddock. There is one double bedded and one twin bedded room. The family bathroom has a bath with a shower over.
The Dairy Cottage has one double bedded and one twin bedded room. The family bathroom offers a bath and a separate wheelchair accessible shower. The open plan living area overlooks the courtyard garden.
Each cottage will sleep 5 with bunk beds in the twin rooms. Please check on booking. Small children are welcome. We can provide a cot and high chair.
Your pets are welcome. We make a small charge of £10 per week or part of week for each pet.
We have a no smoking policy in the cottages.
